About the Client
Ainanani Coffee is a family-owned farm located in the volcanic heart of Kona, Hawaii. Since 2022, they’ve been growing 100% organic Kona coffee with care, sustainability, and deep respect for the land. We were honored to bring their vision to life through brand identity, packaging, and a full Shopify Store experience.
The Challenge
Ainanani needed more than just packaging—they wanted their origin story visible from the first glance. Kandō-style simplicity on shelves, deep cultural roots, and seamless customer trust in the Shopify store were non-negotiables.
Our Approach
For this project, we set out to create a logo, packaging system, and Shopify store that visually and emotionally reflect the brand’s deep love for Hawai‘i and its iconic Kona coffee.
The logo captures their family roots through its color palette and the symbolic presence of two birds coming together—a subtle nod to heritage and harmony.
For the packaging, we crafted four matte-laminate bags—Typica, Geisha, Catimor, and Sunrise Blend—each defined by its own color story. The goal was to balance refinement with the raw, vibrant character of island nature.
On Shopify, we built a mobile-first experience that feels immersive and smooth, tightening up product details, navigation, and storytelling sections to encourage exploration and keep everything aligned with the brand’s spirit.

Ainanani’s brand is deeply rooted in Hawaiian heritage, sustainability, and family tradition, so we made sure the design echoed those values. We also designed the branding to celebrate the founder's country. From logo to label, every touchpoint tells a story about origin, care, and community—a reflection of the values Ainanani holds close.
As our most recent client from the Kona area, we’re especially proud to support their journey. Through this partnership, we also reaffirm our own commitment to ethical sourcing and small-batch roasters by supporting organizations like the Kona Coffee Farmers Association.
